Nashville Flood Relief

What a difference two weeks can make. As the record setting rain was still coming down, Double Impact had already started putting groups together to aid those in need. We had planned a trip to Mexico to build a home for a family in great need, however God changed our plan as He does so often. We hit the ground Monday morning the 3rd, running and have not stopped yet. With Gods guidance and opening doors, Double Impact has lead groups from Harpeth Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church, Kipp Academy, alumni from Brentwood Academy, Harpeth Hall, MBA, BGA, college students from Harpeth Presbyterian Church and many others. Also last Sunday the 4th grade Sunday school class from First Presbyterian Church walked around in Bellevue and handed out home baked goods to homeowners and workers.

Double Impact has been so blessed by the outpouring of volunteers, we are over whelmed. We are working on an amazing project that will give back to many of the families who have been effected by the flood. Check out the CHAIRity page of our web site.

The CHAIRity Auction held August 12th at Belle Meade Plantation raised over $25,000 to aid over 74 survivors of the May floods. These funds were in the hands of those in need within 3 weeks. More that 85 chairs were transformed by local artists, sports figures, community leaders, and other celebrities to be sold at the event. A silent auction began at 6:30 with the live auction occurring later with Brad Hopkins, former Titan, as auctioneer. Food, music, and excitement filled the night as delighted patrons took home chairs that had become works of art!
